What a Week!

This week has truly been inspiring. A quote from a hymn that has guided me through this weekend in particular is, "Prayer can change the night to day." I found myself praying so much this weekend. It was a weekend filled with love, laughs, and overcoming trials.

We set our goals very high this week and wanted to see E a lot before her baptism. She got a little sick and we had to postpone our lessons with her. All ended up well. She was baptized on Saturday and it was such an incredible day. It was amazing to see someone so young following the Savior and being baptized like He commands us to do. She is such a super star in every sense of the word. It has been incredible to see her learn and grow.

I think about the clip from The District 2 where the Sisters are standing beside the baptismal font and and just hugging and so happy that Sister Robles got baptized. That is exactly how I felt Sister B and I were. We were holding each other and so happy to see E make those covenants with her Heavenly Father.

Upon entering the water, she mumbled something to the effect of, "Oh, it is warm." haha Later, we heard that the atendees could hear her and chuckled a little bit. She is sooooooo funny. I love her.

She had to be immersed twice due problems with the wording of the ordinance. I guess some people would have that as a fear for their investigator. It taught me such an incredible lesson. The ordinance must be said exactly as written in the Doctrine in Covenants. NOTHING against the person who said it (I know I probably would forget too), but they forgot the phrase, "Having been commissioned of Jesus Christ." That makes all the difference. E had to be immersed a second time and I'm so glad she did. When the ordinance was done properly and she came up and out of the water, she told us that she wished she could stay in there it felt so good. She is adorable. She even mentioned that the temperature of the water was a little colder the second time, but that she wanted to stay in there. It was such a great moment.

After she got all dry and ready, she bore her testimony. It was such a sweet and simple testimony. She talked about how she liked the scripture that was on the front of her program and how the Savior doesn't want anyone to get left behind. She talked about her belief that this Church is true and how grateful she was for the creations of the world.

Soooo many people came and supported her and it was incredible. The Young Women's presidency showed her so much love and gave her a "toolbox" to be successful with personal progress books, a journal, and her own personal scriptures with her named embossed on them. What an amazing day.

More miracles definitely happened this week as well. They were amazing to see. Sister B and I had some incredible experiences as a companionship. My love for her has grown so much. I am so grateful that I got to serve with her for 1/3 of my mission. I am honored to have been her companion. I am sad she is leaving but I am excited for the new journey I will take part of.

I have learned that the Lord prepares us so that we are able to handle the challenges and changes He gives us. I know I will continue to learn this precept more and more and I am so grateful for this time I have to be a missionary!

Life's good. And hard. And fun. And I hope yours is too!
