Snowed in for 2 Days!!

First off! my new companion is incredible! we are similar in so many ways and I have loved our time together. i am so grateful for the chance to serve with her. she is 23 almost and from Lehi, Utah. She is one of the most tender hearted and caring people. I LOVE HER.

We had one of the most amazing district meetings on Wednesday. It was so powerful. We talked about how to use Facebook for hastening the work. We were able to share with each other productive ways we have seen Facebook work for us and ways it has been hard for us. Elder S, our district leader, is from Mexico City and is so so humble and kind. And so funny. He just says the funniest things with the straightest face and it is just incredible. I am so grateful to be serving in the district. Half Spanish Elders and then us, and the Elders from our ward. It has been great. It is the only district I have known and it has been such a blast.

I guess we probably NEEDED that amazing of a district meeting because we got snowed in for two days. We weren't allowed to leave our apartment because of the storm. North Carolina does not do snow. They just don't have the equipment for it. Friday was still pretty bad. We couldn't have walked on a lot of the roads but we went contacting nearby and saw so many miracles. It was incredible all the people the Lord blessed us to be able to come in contact with.

One great story was this woman looking for her dog tag. BACK UP... in this leadership meeting a few weeks ago, Sister B and I taught about how you need to "pick a clue and relate it to you." This could be something they were doing or wearing or anything like that. So... Sister E and I applied what we had taught and we saw an amazing experience. We started talking to her about her dog and found out she was looking for a lost dog tag from a few days earlier, even before the snow. I told her about how that is frustrating, even if it doesn't seem like a big deal. I told her the story of the last time it snowed, I lost my name tag and I was so annoyed and a little disappointed. I asked her if she had prayed for to be able to find it (we had talked a little about her religious beliefs already) and she said she hadn't. I continued to tell her that I was able to find my name tag with faith and prayer in a spot that I had already thought I looked. After sharing that story, Sister E looked down and there the dog tag was. It was incredible. Sister E shared a scripture, Alma 26:37. The first line talks about how God is mindful of every people. It was incredible to bear testimony to her that God knows her and loves her. Especially on Valentine's Day!

This week will be full of more adventures. Keep reading the Book of Mormon. It makes me happy. And I know it can make everyone else happy too! :)
