Weekly email

Umm... sorry this is going to be so short. I always have a million stories to tell and then sometimes I do better than other weeks at sharing them and making time to write them.

This week we saw a lot of miracles. We read from the Book of Mormon. We prayed. We smiled and said hi to people. We bought groceries.

Hahaha just trying to think of generic things that happen every week in the life of a missionary!

RNCM-we love y'all (Kriz 2nd row, 5th from left, green shirt)
We really did have a fantastic week. I really love this area. I keep saying that and that is because I really mean it.

I think the funniest part of the week was what happened on Saturday. We drove 3 hours to a meeting. Sat in the (amazing) meeting for 7 hours. Then drove home 3 as well to where our car was parked at other sisters' apartment, then 2 more. It was quite the day. Anyway, on our way out of Jacksonville back to Shallotte, we realized that we needed dinner and tried to find a place close by. We found ourselves at Cook Out (SO GOOD) and we were about to buy our dinner when lil ole me realized that I didn't have my wallet. We went back out to the car and looked for it everywhere but it was no where to be found. So, I was just laughing at myself for the lil lil foolish mistake I had made. Of course on one of the longest days and weekends of my mission, I couldn't eat anything. hahaha I was seriously sitting there laughing at myself. My kind companion offered me her card so I could pay for my meal and I could pay her back. I ordered something but the card did not go through. So I sat down, and in any other situation I probably would have been defeated. But for some reason I was not. I felt relaxed and calm about the whole situation and I had no idea why.

Later, I tried again to order something with her card, something cheaper (LOL) and it went through! So I got a corn dog for 99 cents and milkshake haha. YUPPP. Just enough to get my milkshake. Priorities... I know. Anyway... So I ate in bliss and just laughing at myself.

I contribute my ability to stay calm to two things. 1. Kaitlin teaching me the principle of not freaking out every time I lose my phone or keys or wallet. It really works haha. Thanks girl.

2. I also contribute it to the spiritual prompting my sister got in behalf of me! All the way out in NC. I got the sweetest email from her saying that she had a feeling to pray extra hard for me this weekend.

I know this seems like a really small detail of my week but it really meant a lot to me that Heavenly Father was watching over me through the prayers of others. Not to mention that our GPS froze on the way home and luckily my brilliant companion knew how to get home without it. Also, I ran out of water and I was worried the whole way home we'd get stranded and end up without water haha. I was a little unprepared, but luckily the Lord loves me and protects me.

:) Lots of good things happened this week. Hope y'all are reading those scriptures. I couldn't live without the Spirit they bring into my life. :)
