Incredible week! and a visit to Wendy's!

Best lady ever! I <3 her!

This week was incredible. We had the wonderful opportunity to teach so many lessons. Monday started the week off just right. On this day, I felt like the Lord was preparing our hearts for the people we were going to teach. We started off with a mini miracle. We went up to contact a woman and her young son. As we asked her more questions about herself, we soon came to find out she was a less active member of the Church who had moved in 3 days prior. It was so amazing to see that she was put right in our path way and that we were able to welcome her to the ward right away. We continued contacting in that area and found a great family to refer the Spanish sisters to. The husband of the family said that his mother-in-law was the only one of her siblings that wasn't a member of the Church. The potential for them to baptize the live-in mother-in-law, and the whole family is great. If that's not "low-hanging fruit," I don't know what is! They have met with missionaries in the past and we hope the Spanish sisters were able to start teaching them.

The miracles didn't stop there. We continued to walk and talk with everyone (and ask for referrals!) and approached these teenage boys finishing up a game of basketball. We attempted to talk to them with not much success. One boy noted that his dad was a preacher. Another stated that he didn't believe in God at all. The later response has not been too common for us to hear lately. He walked away without allowing us to share more of our message. We continued on and found this kind man named George. He was in his garage fixing up a few things and allowed us to talk with him for a bit. He, too, claimed he was an atheist and didn't believe in God because of the tragedies he had seen training police officers in the Middle East. We got to bear our testimony on the divinity of our Heavenly Father.

We then contacted a former investigator family, the Taylors. As Bro. Taylor opened the door, he said, almost verbatim, what George had said prior. It is commonly said that the hearts of the people we will find and teach are being prepared and I know that to be true. But that night, the Lord was preparing Sister Zoolakis and I to be able to find and teach the wonderful Taylor family (who are now are two new investigators). They allowed us in (even though it was almost 8pm) and we had a great lesson. They allowed us to come back 3 more times that week and we have really seen progress with the softening of his heart, even if he isn't all the way there yet.
