2. I bought hummus for myself for the first time!
Okay.
So let me break down this week for anyone and everyone who may read
this. It was wonderful. YUPPPPP! My companion is great, my district is
great, and my area is great. DURHAM IS FULL OF MIRACLES. I love the
people here. Yadda yadda yadda. BUT IT'S ALL TRUE.
We are teaching the most wonderful woman, A. She is sooooo great. She seriously is the best. She asked us on our first lesson, "How can I tell these people who don't believe in God that there is a better way? How can I help them feel the love of Christ?" #loosequote But seriously. She says she gets prompting to go to nursing home just to visit people and she is wonderful. She works at Duke and has a light blue car. It is soooo cute! And she has a car! What a miracle.
I LOVE TEACHING HERE. Wanna know why? Because the Spirit is so strong there. She has such real intent and we can tell she is really listening. When she does go on a tangent, it is the most amazing tangent I have ever heard. Usually we are always trying to get people back on topic. When she goes "off-topic" I wish she would go on for the rest of the lesson.
She came to church on Sunday and she loved it. She said that everyone was so humble there and that she could feel the Spirit as the young children bore their testimonies of the Savior.
AND BETTER YET... there was #nofalsedoctrine! Yay! haha that hashtag was first used by our ward mission leader when talking about possibly getting a blog for the ward. haha gotta love it. Especially in testimony meeting.
Before the meeting even started, she told us that she was praying and asking God to help her to know if all of this was right and if is doing the right thing. Then she had a thought to go look at her phone. She said that the scripture of the day text we had sent her answered the EXACT question she had. IT WAS AMAZING. She really recognizes when God answers her prayers. It is wonderful. I love her so much.
We had a lesson with her today and she told us that
she was just praying that we would be able to have our lesson today. The
roads were crazy last night, but luckily we were able to meet with her
still. AND... even better. She told us that she way praying for us and
our families. HOW SWEET IS THAT.
Anyway, that is why my week has been so great. My
new companion is adorable and helps me be happy. She is almost 23 and we
laugh a lot. We are so happy and blessed to be in Durham. We hope to be
able to stay another transfer together but we will see what the Lord
has in store for us.
I get very transfer stir crazy when I don't know what is going to happen to this lil missionary life of mine.
YES. My patience is tested every day. Sometimes I am not the best... But... that alarm goes off at 6:30am
and Sister E and I get in our lil sports clothes and run to our lil gym
and work out then study then teach all day then eat then PRAY! SLEEP.
Repeat.
Also, our apartment is so so so so nice!!! Yes. It has valet trash! We put our trash out any day Sunday to Thursday outside of our door.. In the morning? It is gone!!
I
am spoiled! I love the Lord. I love my mission! And I'm only slightly
sad that this is my last week being a teenager. I have got to live it
up. It was so fun teaching young people and trying to relate and saying,
"I'm still a teenager, I know what you're going through."
hahahhahahahah
OKAY. Seriously. Guess what I bought myself for my birthday (so far)... STRAWBERRIES AND RASPBERRIES AND KIWI! Yummmmmmmmmmm.
Okay bye. Seriously. I love this life. It's so hard though. Lawlzies.
Our visit to the UNC Basketball Museum,
MJ & all!
