Miracles abound in North Carolina y'all

(I just thought of that title... I don't know why... but it's still true... so we'll go with it)

What would I like to say about this week!? Well... first things first...

1. The neighbor who lives below us is our Relief Society president's nephew! It was crazy how we found that out when she came to pick us up for an exchange. It was quite hilarious actually. LAWLZIES. Anyway... the first time I met my neighbor was when he and his fiance came up and told Sister B and I that we stomped a lil too loud on the floor above him. A comment about us being 300 lbs may or may not have been made. Haha. Anyway... he's really nice and all that jazz but we never talk to them. But... when we found out that his aunt is our bff, we are hoping that he will come to a lesson in her home and to the Gladys Knight concert that will be coming in April. So funny. I love it. Connections that can be made on a mission (or in life in general) are the best!

2.Last week I wrote about our AMAZING investigator, A. She's still wonderful. She didn't get to come to church because she slept in through day light savings haha. But that's okay. Sometimes I think we get in the habit of expecting perfection for our investigators and other people in the ward often do as well. But just as an anecdote, a completely active member of the ward was our ride on Sunday and they slept in and we had to find another ride (right quick). So... moral of the story, we need to have increased patience with our investigators. We can't expect them to be perfect!!! But, we can encourage them to be the very best they can be!

A is progressing really nicely. She always reads what we ask her to, and then some. She shares her spiritual experiences, asks amazing questions, and prays so sincerely. We have high hopes for her and I also (secretly) hope I can stay in Durham another transfer so I can be there for her baptism. She has truly been prepared for the gospel! Years ago, she felt that she was led by the Lord to more faithfully pray and read her scriptures. Because of those habits that she set up years ago, she is now able to understand the gospel more fully. I love her sooo much! haha

Ummm... what else? Oh yeah, it was my birthday! Duh. haha The ward members treated me so nicely here. They treated me with so much love and kindness. Sister E made me the most amazing pancakes and we had them with nutella, syrup, and strawberries. haha. IT WAS SO GOOD.
