Fun times on bikes in the Knightdale life.

Remembering the bike life

More remembrances of the bike life
Well, well, well! What a good week. Seriously! We will call this week... Fun times on bikes in the Knightdale life.
Best part of the week. My companion gave us the courage to talk with EVERYONE this week. We made new goals to be engaging and more aware of our surroundings! We got to meet this lovely household of people sitting outside on their back porch. They were burning someone's shirt so that mosquitos wouldn't bother them (I didn't even know that was a thing). Sister Z had already met this woman, Ms. J's son, whose name happens to be Ray (on exchange). We referred him to the Elders but then again ended up back at his place to talk with his mom, who was getting her hair done on the porch. Come to find out, she is a preacher at church called "No Greater Love." So good. We talked about what her sermon was going to be about and she decided it would be about the prodigal son. Then, we flipped open to the story of Alma the Younger's conversion story and started at it. SHE SERIOUSLY LOVED IT! I read a few verses and she asked if he was going to repent for trying to tear down the church. I told her to be patient (in a loving way of course) and continued to read the story. She was just eating it up! :) Seriously! It was the best. I read the verse about having joy as great as his pains. She was just loving it to the max to the extreme! She loved it so much. The Book of Mormon can help even a Christian preacher! It was such an incredible story to share with her.

She said the Elders in Henderson (a nearby branch) had been by her church and she already had a copy. We gave her a copy for her house and she asked us to bookmark the story of Alma the Younger before we left. SOOO good. I love her. Her daughter-in-law was braiding her hair and I asked if she'd do one braid for me. haha I'm getting very bold here in Knightdale. And I also asked her if she'd make us fried chicken. And she said yes. hahaha I love this life so much.

Another good part of the week was getting our investigator, R, to come to a baptism of a teenaged boy the Elders taught. It was a very powerful experience to witness his baptism. I love the promises that we get if we are baptized into Christ's church. Also, seeing him receive the gift of the Holy Ghost the next day was just icing on the cake. Actually... if that is the icing, then the sprinkles were when his cousin got up and gave the most beautiful tlak about how the Book of Mormon strengthens your testimony and how proud he was of his cousin for getting baptized. It was just an amazing weekend.

We are teaching a lovely young single adult, D. She has been church hopping for about a year now and just feels at peace at our church. She wants to be baptized and we are working with her and her fellowshipper family to be able to pick a date before she moves out of the country. She has some really interesting questions about the afterlife, because the reason she started attending church about a year ago was because of the death of a loved friend. She is moving along, and reading the Book of Mormon and we are so blessed to be able to be teaching so much.

I love this ward a lot and we are doing better at meeting all the people we can.

Thanks for all the support and prayers this week. I can really feel them. If you want to see miracles, pray for them. That's what we do. Be specific.
Help someone out this week and you will be blessed. I promise. It helps me every time. I'm so grateful for the power of prayer. Don't ever underestimate its power.
Lots of love from North Carolina,
Sister Ray
