Writing this... I have no clue where it is going to take me. Usually I have plans of what I am going to write...But today... nahhhhhhhh...
What I got out of his final words were to:
Anyway, this week has been filled with the Spirit and with some super fun activities. Sadly, I left my camera in the apartment so I will update everyone with pictures next week.
The most fun day of the week was Friday! We got picked up early and driven to the beautiful Raleigh Temple! It is the same layout as the Fresno Temple. We walked around the entirety of it before our session and it was so peaceful. It is always a pleasant experience seeing all the Sisters. I got to see some of my old friends from the MTC and the Mission Home and it was quite enjoyable.
The temple has such a special spirit there. I encourage all who have the ability to go... to GO! Your mind can be enlightened and your spirits can be uplifted. I know mine were!
After the temple, we went to Panera Bread with a member who was driving us. If you know me... You know that was a happy time for me! haha We ran into my MTC companion, Sister Merrill there too. It was quite delightful if I do say so myself.
Then.... We toured DUKE CAMPUS!!! It was a blast. We went and saw the football stadium, the famous Cameron stadium & Basketball Hall of Fame Museum. A volunteer worker there recognized us as missionaries (I gave him a pass-along card) and talked to us a little about the famous Mormon Duke basketball player. Sister B swears some of him and his team were at the library one day when we were but I don't know what he looks like well enough to support her claim.
We walked by the Duke Chapel! It is so big! haha. And walked down to Duke Gardens as well. It was the most fun preparation day thus far! It was a blast!
THEN... FALL BREAK STARTED. Aka conference weekend for a missionary. We watched with investigators or less actives and we got fed really well. haha. It was so fun.
General Conference was sooooo inspiring. I think my favorite talk was the very last talk, right before President Monson's closing words.
What I got out of his final words were to:
1. Build your testimony to withstand the evils of the world.
2. Show increase kindness.
3. Do the word of God!
Obey God's prophet and strive to do better each and every day!
Sorry that this letter has been so scattered. I love you all and thanks for the letters, support, packages, and love!
Sister Kristen Ray
