Durham Days

This week has been a trying blast out here in Durham. Apparently it is called "The Dirty D." Just thought y'all should know that.

Fun Facts about Sister B:
1. She doesn't like chocolate.
2. She eats syrup with her pasta (Yes, just like in Elf)
3. She reminds me SOOOOOO much of G and Sister L. Like sometimes I'll be reading numbers to her to put in our phone and she will say "k" and it will sound JUST LIKE G. Like it is sooooo freaky. She reminds me more of Sister L because she is blonde. Like sometimes just the way she acts like Sister L is uncanny. I told her that and I had to assure her of how amazing they both were to be compared to.

We had exchanges this week and I got to serve with our sister training leader... which means... I got to see her piloting Facebook for our mission. It is quite exciting and I will share some details of it here. In a week or two, all NCRM missionaries will be using Facebook. We will be cleaning up our old Facebooks, then using them for online proselyting. We are really excited and  curious about how it will all pan out. We will be on FB an hour a day from what I understand. Should be exciting. Sister S (the sister training leader) had only had a FB for 8 months before she came on her mission. I have to clean up all my stuff since 2008. It will be an interesting process that's for sure.

Just so y'all know, all the mission gifts everyone gave me have been WELL used. I wear my ring from KW every day, my bracelet from the K's every day, my watch and CTR ring from my family every day, and my necklace from AG most days (if it doesn't match, I have to adjust lol). I write in the study journal A gave me every day and I scrapbook and keep memories in the book M gave me. I use the stationary and pens Sister L and Sister W gave me too. I am so grateful for so many things that remind me of how great my home is. I love you all so much.

Thanks to everyone who has written me. I really appreciate it.

We had a lot of appointments fall through this week but we did get to teach one lesson with an investigator. We knocked many doors this week and we have some potential investigators to go see in the coming week. We are really excited to get to know the people of Durham more.

One potential investigator is named G (just like in the District-lol). He just started praying 6 months ago and has felt closer to God than ever before. It was so great to speak with him. He is not particularly interested in organized religion but we are so excited to go back and speak with him. During one of the hardest days of the week, he was my tender mercy. He was so kind and invited us in (we couldn't go in because he was a single man). I felt the Spirit help me testify of the love God has for us. It has been so great to experience teaching with the Holy Ghost. I love being a missionary so much.

We work with a lot of less active members here. Last night we taught a woman who hasn't been to church in awhile and struggles to know if God exists. We did our best to testify that God lives and that he loves her. It is so important to have a member with us. We have learned how much strength members can add to our lessons.

Today is my half birthday.

I love you all. I hope I will have more to update on next week.
