ADVICE FROM MY MISSIONARY FRIENDS

Sister JW's advice:
Pre-Mission Advice:
http://sisterwebster.wordpress.com/2013/07/08/the-last-post/
  • Start packing as soon as you get your luggage!
  • BUY ROLL UP SPACE SAVER BAGS. They are a life saver.
  • You know how you’re supposed to read the Book of Mormon cover to cover again before your mission? Start now. Like right now. Seriously. Do it.
In-Field Advice:

  • Make sure you & your comp buy a phone card @ the bookstore ahead of time so calling home is super cheap & you can talk a long time.
  • Sack lunches at the MTC, especially on P day so chek that out.
  • We did our laundry @ 5:45am on our P day because the laundry room gets crazy stressful with a million people there! We learned the hard way so we went early on our last P day.
  • Make sure to buy the name tag clip thing at the bookstore. It turns your pin name tag into a little clip instead & I use my clip everyday now.
  • Decide what movie you want to go to on Sunday night ahead of time because the good ones (popular ones) fill up within minutes.
  • Remember you've always got someone who understands what you're going through exactly & who you can lean on & who can give you as much strength as you need- Christ.
Sister MP's advice:
  • So the stress in the MTC is completely different from the field. So either way, if the MTC is stressful/not stressful to you, know when you get out weverything is different.
  • Just have faith. When I got there Satan lead me to doubt & fear. Doubt myself & what I knew & be afraid of what I was doing, but you'll read in PMG that doubt and fear counteract faith in Christ, so I strived to increase my faith... & am still trying to & will never stop because ain't nobody got time for doubt and fear :)
  • Have a scripture case because I've realized I don't really need to lug around a bag.
  • It doesn't matter how much you music you have, but if you've even got even two CD's on your iPod your life will be better.
  • Whatever you do, remember that you can do this! You can do it all! And when you don't feel like you can, you actually can!
Sister AO's advice:
  • You will love the MTC andn the mission field. It's so crazy spiritual. You pray like 30 times a day it feels like.
  • Your first day in the field is crazy but so fun!
  • Get as much sleep as you can!
